Jason taught high school English for 12 years. He attended the Connecticut Writing Project Summer Institute in 1999 and earned his PhD at UConn in 2006. Since 2007 he has been Lecturer in English and Director of the Connecticut Writing Project, and currently serves as Assistant Coordinator of the Early College Experience English Program. He also serves on the MLA’s Standing Committee for K–16 Alliances and reviews teacher education programs for CAEP and NACTE. His most recent publications are in What Does It Mean to Be White in America? (2Leaf Press 2016), Nathaniel Hawthorne in the College Classroom (AMS 2016), Resources for American Literary Study, Volume 38 (AMS 2016), and Deep Reading: Teaching Reading in the Writing Classroom (NCTE 2017).
