commonly assigned in Bio 107 & 108.

• Practical Guide to Reading the Primary Literature in Biology: Short, one-
page strategy on how to tackle those primary research articles assigned for
critiques, short papers or review papers in upper level biology courses.
• The "Says/Does" Approach to Reading Primary Literature: This handout is
intended to guide students in identification of the informative versus persua-
sive aspects of the primary literature in biology. Can be used to instigate
thoughtful reading of the primary literature.
